    • Patient Participation Group  (PPG)

      Core aims:

The core aims of the PPG are to:

      • ensure the patients’ perspective is at the heart of local healthcare provision.

      • work with the surgery staff to make sure that services are of high quality and continuously improve

      • provide practical support to the surgery, foster good communication between the practice and its patients and help patients to take more responsibility for their health.

We work to secure a positive and constructive relationship between patients, the Practice and the community it serves, ensuring that the practice remains accountable and responsive to all its patients’ needs. These aims guide the 5 areas of PPG action – a summary of current actions can be found in here.

The PPG currently (2019) consists of 10 patients, who are all volunteers. Our Practice Manager attends full meetings and answers questions on behalf of the Partnership. We also have volunteers who help with specific tasks such as our village Coffee Mornings (where we seek the views of patients).  All Hilary Cottage patients over 18 years of age are eligible to join the PPG as Friends (whom we keep in contact with through Gmail) task volunteers or Committee members. New members are very welcome. Please leave a message for our Chair via the surgery reception if you would like to join.

      Friends of the PPG:

If you become a Friend you will be able to easily raise issues of a general nature which we can take up with the Surgery. We can also ask you for advice on topics and let you know significant developments at Hilary Cottage. Please click here for the Friends of the PPG Registration Form
